Community Work
Carry Hope Naloxone’s community work focuses on directly engaging with local populations to prevent overdoses by providing free Narcan, education, and hands-on training. The goal is to meet people where they are and ensure anyone—regardless of background—has access to life-saving resources and knows how to use them.
About the project
Starting point
This effort began with direct outreach in Austin, working closely with the homeless community and other at-risk groups. Early on, the focus was on building trust, understanding real needs, and removing barriers to accessing Narcan and overdose education.
What have we done so far
Since then, Carry Hope Naloxone has expanded its outreach across a wide range of communities, including the homeless population, families, students, and local organizations. Through consistent on-the-ground efforts, the organization has distributed Narcan, provided training, and built relationships with community partners to increase overall impact.
End result
The goal is to create a community where Narcan is widely accessible, people are educated on how to respond to overdoses, and more individuals are empowered to step in and save lives when it matters most.
